Softball Source is built to work without collecting anything about you. This policy explains the small amount of data we handle when you choose to use optional features, and what we do with it. The short version: we don't run ads, we don't use analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share your data for marketing.
You can use everything in the app as a guest. Your followed teams and players, bookmarks, and preferences are stored only on your device. We collect no personal information from guest users.
Accounts exist so you can subscribe to the newsletter and keep your sign-in across devices. When you create one we store:
Account data lives in a Cloudflare D1 database. We use it only to operate your account — never for advertising or profiling.
If you opt in to the newsletter, we share your email address and display name with Ghost, the platform that sends it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any issue, and unsubscribing has no effect on your account.
If you turn on notifications, the app sends our server an Apple Push Notification service device token, your notification preferences, and the team names you follow. This is used solely to deliver the notifications you asked for. It is not linked to your account or identity, and tokens that become invalid are deleted.
Our backend runs on Cloudflare (Workers, D1, KV, and R2), which processes data on our behalf to run the service. The newsletter is delivered by Ghost as described above. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service. We share data with these providers only as needed to provide the features you use.
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, which removes your record from our database immediately. You can also email us at info@softballsource.net to request deletion. Short-lived operational data (such as rate-limiting counters) expires automatically.
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Creating an account is optional and intended for users who are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country).
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be noted in the app or newsletter.
